Instruction to suit the needs of every individual. At Mahantango Acres
Equestrian Center we emphasize foundation learning for both horse and rider at
every level.

Mahantango Acres Equestrian Center is owned and operated by Michael and Virginia Heckert. Virginia has been a Certified Horsemanship Association Master Instructor (Advanced English and Western Horsemanship) since 1989. Recently, she completed an apprenticeship program instructed by John Lyons Certified trainer, Kathy Huggins.
Earlier in her career, Virginia toured on the "A" circuit with Olympic Equestrienne Anne Kursinski. She has also taught, trained and studied in various areas of the United States including New York's hunt country in the Mid Hudson Valley. She holds a degree in Equine Studies and works with various Not For Profit Equine Organizations including the 4-H Club, as a group leader. Virginia donates her training services to neglected and/or abused horses through Equine Rescues in various parts of the United States. In addition to being very active in Equine related interest groups and awareness projects, Virginia is also a Regional Director for the Pennsylvania Equine Council.
